ENJOY EARTH DAY WHILE THINKING ABOUT FUTURE!!! Today, on the 22nd of April 2017, on Planet Earth Day, a flock of 30 Bee-eaters (Merops apiaster) just flew over Tirana, after a long and fatiguing voyage from the Sub-Saharan Africa. Seeing them, in between pieces of sky left over from the large buildings, one might think about those damages done, today and in the past, to nature. But mostly, we think about those different habitats and species (plants, insects, birds and mammals), small or large, that we enjoy today because we have preserved them. The most difficult question is: Are we going to preserve those habitats and species from the cement world? Are we going to avoid the repeated mistake of massive tourism? Are we going to preserve Albania as beautiful as we inherited it from nature and our ancestors?
