Very interesting and final data from Eurobirdwatch 2016, undertaken also in Albania during the last weekend of 1-2 of October 2016 by AOS in cooperation with APAWA, supported by Euronatur, and the Regional Agencies for Protected Areas of Fieri, Lezha, Tirana and Vlora.
10 DIFFERENT SITES COVERED, 20 PARTICIPANTS, 102 MIGRATORY BIRD SPECIES AND OVER 39,000 INDIVIDUALS OBSERVED.
The most spectacular observations were:
• 4218 migratory Barn Swallows (Hirundo rustica)
• 3025 migratory Sand Martins (Riparia riparia)
• 29 Knots (Calidris canutus)
