Our work on the Atlas of Breeding Birds in Albania goes on today in Elbasani region through the great support provided by our colleagues from vogelwarte.ch and NABU Bundesverband.
Apart from the surveys in riparian habitats of Shkumbini river and lakes of Dumreja, most of our attention was devoted at mountainous habitats in the highlands of Shpati and particularly at Mount Bukaniku.
Tens of species were registered there and particularly one species of Tit, never reported before in Albania.
Those data are of great importance in understanding the right distribution and abundance of species in Albania. The work will continue now in other regions of Albania.
Our thanks go for Fatmir Brazhda and ADZM Elbasan for the information and support.
