Birdwatching Training

In Vlora, where AOS in cooperation with Western Balkans-Land of Discovery and Tours of Albania held a 3 day-training on arrangements of bird-watching tours, a project funded by USAID. The training goal is to present opportunities for implementation in practice of knowledge on birdwatching. The training was attended by representatives of both local and regional tourism operators, as well as representatives from the Administration of Protected Areas in Vlora Region. The training was conducted based on an approved program and calendar, thus offering to the touristic guides an up to date knowledge, with the aim on identifying bird species and manners of observation in the field and the most important areas of distribution in Albania. The program is divided into two sessions, theoretical and practical one. The first session consists of presentations on the basis of identifications of different types of birds, families and variations by age and seasons. The second session comprised several field visits, equipped with offered equipment (binoculars, spotting scope), in the Narta Lagoon, Orikum Lagoon and National Park in Llogara.
