We are used to see them in flocks coming back from Africa during the spring migration but never so early then yesterday, on the 20th of February 2018, when a House Martin (Delichon urbicum) was spotted feeding over the Artificial Lake in Tirana. Has the spring started or it is just an individual that could have passed the mild winter here in Albania? This remains to be further verified through readers’ comments. If someone has any information for the observation of the species during winter, it is more than welcomed to send us a comment. Thanks to all and to Dancho Hristov for the first observation!
