A Day of Restoration and Reforestation at Lurë Mali i Dejës National Park, Northern Albania

On November 1-2, Lurë Mali i Dejës National Park was energized by a shared purpose: to restore damaged habitats and bring these forgotten landscapes back to the forefront! With 40 nature enthusiasts gathered, committed to making a positive impact in one of Albania’s most stunning landscapes. Together, we planted around 400 Pinus nigra saplings, each representing our dedication to regenerating and nurturing this cherished environment, once a national emblem.

The day was filled with purpose, smiles, and a sense of dedication, though the terrain proved challenging for many of us. Families, friends, and nature lovers of all ages joined in—including 6 playful dogs and 4 curious babies, all eager to participate! With the mountains as our backdrop and a clear blue sky above, we hiked, climbed, dug, planted, and created new memories, reconnecting with the land and each other.

Each child planted their sapling with determination, their excitement matched only by the joyful barks of our furry friends. These saplings symbolize hope, resilience, and the power of community-driven action.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who helped make this day possible. Whether you joined us in the field or supported us from afar, you’ve contributed to a lasting legacy here at Lurë. Special thanks to Trees for Lurë for their invaluable support. Stay tuned as we continue this journey to restore and protect Albania’s Protected Areas and beyond. 🌍
